ABOUT In 2007 Maria moved from her hometown Bogota-Colombia to Auckland-New Zealand where she divided her time between Environmental Engineering and Photography, working full time at AR Civil Engineering Ltd. Maria worked part time as a freelance photographer with Jessica Higueras, a well established and recognized professional photographer in New Zealand. In April 2010 Maria moved back to Colombia in order
to start her own business in Photography but with the idea of keeping
open the doors in New Zealand. After two successful months back
in Colombia, she was accepted as Photographer to join an expeditionary
survey in Asia during summer and second semester of 2010. "A picture is an individual impression of a moment… What I like the most about photography is that unexpected moments turn me into a constant observer, a seeker of unrepeatable instants to make "click". To me, shooting a photo has become the way of expressing and magnifying what I see…time is framed into a magical slow motion picture when photography sets in".
